ミヤコシンAは、宮古海丘の水深415メートルで採取された海綿Petrosia sp.の冷凍サンプル730グラムから、わずかに21.6mgが得られました[1]。平面構造ははっきりと決定されたものの、化学式中央の不斉点だけは、核磁気共鳴(nuclear magnetic resonance; NMR)はじめ各スペクトル情報からは決まりませんでした。
