ジェームズ・ロスマン(1959年11月3日-)は、アメリカ合衆国で活躍する生化学者・細胞生物学者。細胞内物質輸送の鍵を握る膜融合を分子レベルで理解するため、SNARE説を提唱し、これを示しました。
NSF(N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor)タンパク質・SNAP(soluble NSF attachment protein)タンパク質・SNARE(SNAP receptor)タンパク質の発見を先導し、小胞につみこまれた物質が細胞内を輸送された後、どのように細胞膜と融合して、物質が放出されるのか、分子レベルで解明しました。
